Ash Wednesday is one of the most important holy days in our liturgical calendar, as it is the first day of Lent, a season in our Church of fasting and prayer.
We will hold Liturgy of the Word Services or Masses for all of our students on Ash Wednesday, February 17, during which ashes will be distributed, with the invitation to "Repent and believe in the Gospel." The ashes remind us of our origin and destiny..."you are dust and unto dust you will return," and the attitudes of prayer, repentance, forgiveness, and sacrifice help us to live a true conversion of heart.
Please note that this year, ashes will be sprinkled on top of the head, as opposed to signing on the forehead.

Penance Service for High School (Tuesday, February 16)
A Penance Service will be offered to high school students on Tuesday, February 16. Priests will be available all day for confessions. Parents are welcome to come individually any time on this day for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
As we continue to follow COVID-19 protocols at Pinecrest Academy, please know all protocols will be followed, as usual, for these student gatherings.
While we are unable to welcome parents to Ash Wednesday Liturgies or Masses this year, we encourage you to check the schedule at your local parish for services or Masses. Thank you for your kind and continued understanding.
