Mr. Shawn Coury: Honoree of the Year
Congratulations to Mr. Shawn Coury, our peer-selected Archdiocesan Honoree of the Year for Pinecrest Academy.
Coach Coury, who is our Athletic Director, Head Football Coach, and Head Track & Field Coach, will be recognized with other Atlanta Catholic School honorees at a special Mass and dinner in January 2026.
Here is what the selection committee had to say:
Coach Coury is the heart of our Athletic program, and a true mentor to every student he encounters. In his six years as our head football coach, he has gone 47-17, and won two state championships, along with two separate final four appearances.
He was named the 2024 Forsyth County Coach of the Year by the Forsyth County News.
More than a coach, he forms young men and women to value character, faith, and teamwork above all else, while still managing to bring home multiple championship wins. He lives and breathes our school's mission - to form Christian leaders who will transform society - weaving Gospel values into every lesson, meeting and game.
Coach Coury’s leadership reflects not just a commitment to excellence, but a commitment to forming disciples who will be the hands and feet of Christ to all those they encounter beyond the game.
