Almost 400 Runners and Walkers Turn Out for Paladin Pacer
Almost 400 runners and walkers turned out on Saturday, February 26, for the 3rd Annual Paladin Pacer 5K and Fun Run. The morning began very chilly, but it was a beautiful day for a race!
Br. Joseph Greiger set a new Pinecrest record with a time of 18.24! He was the Overall Winner of the 5K race. Fr. Matthew Kaderabek also had bragging rights, raising the most money for votes that he would have the "Best Finish." The Minions team won the Team Prize. Their costumes were awesome, with young and old making up the team.
It was great to see young, old, founders, and alumni back on campus to run and to support Pinecrest Academy!
A huge thank you to Stacey Persichetti, Committee Chair, along with Mary Tollett, Stephanie Berthelsen, Phyllis Goughnour, Tracey Fong, Melisa Fratter, and Christine Verska, who served on the Paladin Pacer Committee! And – another big thank you to volunteers who set up the day before and who worked many shifts throughout the race day morning to make the Paladin Pacer possible! A shout out to staffers Meghan Guilfoil and Mariana Caraballo for their continuous guidance and support.
Our students were rock stars -- they got involved in many ways to grow registration and garner excitement. Our seniors stepped up as captains of sports teams that volunteered and competed as runners! The senior class earned a Chick-fil-A breakfast, sixth grade earned a pizza party, and kindergarten earned a popsicle party -- for the most participation in each school. Great job, students!
This was a community effort and we are so appreciative!
