Pinecrest Varsity Wrestlers Bring Home Big Wins!

Pinecrest’s Wrestling teams traveled to Commerce, GA, for area duals on January 26-27, 2018.  This area of schools is the toughest in the State for Single A competition, with 12 schools competing. Wrestlers competing for Pinecrest included John Paul Rodriguez, Troy LaPlaca, Tyler Schmidt, Jimmy Dinsmore, Mark Metz, Joe Metz, and Nick Miller.
Six PA athletes moved into the semi-final/consolation semi-final round on the second day of the tournament. Tyler Schmidt took 6th place, Troy LaPlaca took 5th place, Mark Metz took 5th place, Jimmy Dinsmore took 4th place, Nick Miller took 4th place (Jimmy and Nick both forfeited the last consolation semi-final due to injury, so they took 4th), and Joe Metz took 2nd place.
With 1st through 4th place wins, three of our wrestlers -- Jimmy Dinsmore, Joe Metz and Nick Miller -- are moving into sectional competition next week in Macon GA.
Wrestlers who place 1st-4th next weekend will move onto the State Competition in Macon, GA, February 8-10.  Let’s go, Paladins!
