Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative, passionate, and highly qualified Visual Arts Teacher to inspire and teach children in PreK3-5th Grades in various art forms. The ideal candidate will have the ability to foster creativity, exploration, and artistic growth in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. Experience in teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is a plus, as we value an integrated approach to learning that encourages problem-solving and creative thinking across disciplines. As a Visual Arts Teacher, you will provide a well-rounded arts education that encourages imaginative expression, skill development, and aesthetic appreciation.

Our Visual Arts Curriculum offers a variety of opportunities for students to develop their God-given artistic gifts. Understanding and appreciating past and present art allows students to develop their own visual language.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach foundational art knowledge and skills across a variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage.

Engage students in creative exploration with age-appropriate activities that promote both individual and group artistic development.

Demonstrate art techniques through hands-on instruction in areas such as drawing, painting, basic sculpture, and craftwork to encourage creative expression.

Introduce basic concepts of color theory, texture, shape, and form through fun, engaging projects tailored to different developmental stages.

Foster an appreciation of art and creativity by helping students understand art materials, tools, and basic art history in an interactive, child-friendly manner.

Promote fine motor skills and spatial awareness through hands-on activities like cutting, gluing, and assembling in 2D and 3D projects.

Provide individualized and small-group instruction to support students with varying levels of artistic abilities and needs.

Teach proper care and use of materials and art tools, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for creative expression.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and execute art-related projects that enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Organize classroom and art materials, maintaining order and ensuring that supplies are readily available for all students.

Coordinate and organize student art displays and exhibitions within the school and the broader community to celebrate student achievements.

Evaluate student progress through observation and informal assessments, and provide constructive feedback to foster growth.

Communicate regularly with parents and school counselors regarding student progress, artistic development, and classroom activities.

Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in arts education and child development.

Perform other duties as assigned by the administration to support the overall mission of the school.
Minimum Education Requirements / Certification
BA in Art Education or a BA in Fine Arts with relevant experience
