Paladins Snag First and Second Place in Fencing Tournament
On Saturday, October 31, our Paladin Fencers hosted Alpharetta, Campbell, Centennial, North Springs, and Pope High Schools in the first tournament of the Georgia High School Fencing League's season. A total of 29 male fencers and 27 female fencers participated in separate events.
This year’s event looked a lot different from previous fencing tournaments, with no spectators and all of the COVID-19 precautions in place, but the excitement was still as high, as always.
Natalie Jennings (11th) won the women's event, and Matthew Crane (11th) came in Second Place in the men's event. This was the first tournament for Kenneth Crandall (11th) and Katey Miller (9th), and both really stepped up to the level of competition.
Coach Anderson is very proud of the performance of the whole team, which also includes awesome Paladin fencers Gabriela Rodriguez and Ella Miller
