Seven Students Winners in Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Congratulations to Caitlin Gorman, Carleigh Palumbo, Mark Metz, Hank Lynch, Mandy Luong, Jina Li, and Miles Brajdic, for being winners in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
This is the longest-running and most prestigious high school art competition in the nation.
 
Our students’ winning artworks were recognized by a panel of creative professionals as among the most outstanding works submitted across all high school students in the State of Georgia.
 
Caitlin Gorman won a Golden Key for her Digital Image entitled Mind Spiral. Carleigh Palumbo won a Silver Key for her sculpture entitled Fear of Drowning and Mark Metz won Silver Key for his sculpture entitled Stump of Me. All the Golden and Silver Key award winners are invited to have their work featured in an exhibition at SCAD's Poetter Hall in Savannah during the month of March.
 
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have fostered creativity and talent since 1923 for millions of students, and feature a notable list of alumni including: Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Sylvia Plath, Charles White, Kay WalkingStick, Ken Burns, John Baldessari, Mozelle Thompson, Joyce Carol Oates, Hughie Lee-Smith, Robert Redford, and Zac Posen.
 
We will honor these talented students at Pinecrest Academy at the National Art Honor Society inductions on March 10 in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel.
