Empty Bowls Dinner - Thursday and Saturday!

The Empty Bowls Project is an international grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to care for and feed the hungry in their communities. Empty Bowls supports food-related charitable organizations around the world, and has raised millions of dollars to help end hunger.

Pinecrest Academy’s National Art Honor Society has supported the Empty Bowls project for several years. Last week, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends made beautiful, unique, hand-crafted bowls in the high school art room. These bowls have been glazed and prepared in the kiln, with stunning results!  They can actually be used for eating out of!

The NAHS is hosting two Empty Bowls Dinners on Thursday, November 14 and Saturday, November 16, at 6pm in the Upper School Gym Atrium. Both dinners take place just prior to the High School Musical Production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A selection of complimentary homemade soups, chili and breads will be on the menu. Guests may select and use one of the handmade bowls, with a contribution of $15-30, depending on the size of the bowl. Additional donations will be gladly accepted!

The money raised from the Empty Bowls Project will be donated to the St. Francis Table at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta, specifically to provide Thanksgiving meals for the hungry in Downtown Atlanta.

These dinners are open to all, so feel free to bring friends! Questions? Contact Mrs. Stone at astone@pinecrestacademy.org.
