Heath Kennedy, High School Learning Specialist
Heath Kennedy joined Pinecrest Academy in 2018 as a Middle School Science Teacher and Varsity Baseball Head Coach.
His seventeen years in education have included teaching Science, Math, Bible, Leadership and Weight Training.
Mr. Kennedy’s teaching career began with Barrow County Schools, where he taught from 2002-2007, and his tenure includes five years at Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, GA, and two years at Prince Avenue Christian in Athens, GA. He also taught at Elbert County High School in Elberton, GA, and Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch, GA.
He also served in learning support roles for six years in Barrow County from 2002-2007, and at Flowery Branch High School for a year. He moved into his current role at Pinecrest as High School Learning Support Specialist in Fall 2019.
Mr. Kennedy earned a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, with a minor in Health Science, from Augusta State University in 2000.He earned a Master’s degree in Leadership and a Master’s in Divinity, with a minor in Biblical Counseling from Luther Rice University and Seminary in 2012.
He has been coaching for eighteen years, serving as a Head Baseball Coach for 13 years. The bulk of his baseball coaching career was at Hebron Christian Academy, where he coached from 2007-2012. He also coached on the collegiate level at Augusta State University.
In his role as High School Learning Support Specialist, he will be working with individual students daily on organizational skills, such as time management, multi-tasking, and planning both short-term and long-term goals.
Mr. Kennedy and his wife, April, have been married for 14 years. They have a daughter Hannah Grace, 12, and a Yorkie named Lizzy.
