Lauren Hennigar

The Sawnee Woman’s Club (SWC)is a non-for profit organization based in Forsyth County, specifically focused on promoting the advancement and well-being of Forsyth County residents through charitable programs and activities.
Every year, the SWC recognizes two outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated exemplary work volunteering and making a positive difference in Forsyth County. This year was extremely competitive, as applications were submitted from nearly every high school in the County. The two winners were selected based on the impact that their actions and activities had on the greater Forsyth community.

The winner of the Sawnee Woman’s Club $2,000 scholarship was Pinecrest senior, Lauren Hennigar, whose servant leadership and volunteerism made her a perfect candidate. She has accumulated a total of over 1,000 hours volunteering at Meals by Grace, Miracle League, The Place, Cumming Nursing Home, Pier Thrift Shop, and Northside Hospital.

Lauren was president of Pinecrest’s chapter of the Miracle Network, and was selected as a VolunTeen for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), where she gave her time to help others, while learning about different careers in the medical field. In addition, she was chosen to be an official representative for CHOA for Metro Atlanta. Lauren is a member and veteran leader of Youth Leadership Forsyth

She will begin her studies this fall at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville as a part of the University’s honors program as a nursing major.

On-hand to present Lauren with her scholarship were Christine Murphy and Sandy Carter, members of Sawnee Women’s Club. Congratulations to Lauren, and a big thank you to Sawnee Women's Club!
