PreK Teacher Assistant

Pinecrest Academy in Cumming GA, is seeking resumes for a PreK Teacher Assistant for the 2024-2025 academic year. Candidates must have a certification in the field and be prepared to assist in co-curricular activities. The teacher assistant carries out their work professionally and with a spirit of initiative, creating an environment of confidence and respect. The teacher assistant fosters a love for the truth and learning and works to effectively carry out the mission of forming Christian servant leaders. Qualifications

The PreK teacher assistant meets the following qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equal experience (preschool and kindergarten assistants may be required to meet specific state requirements for Early Childhood Education licensing)
  • Leadership and teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to take direction, initiative, and exercise resourcefulness
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Capacity to manage groups
  • Skill for transmitting knowledge and the ability to stimulate a desire to learn in students
  • Agreement with or openness to the apostle mission of the school and the method of internal formation 
Responsibilities

The specific responsibilities of the PreK teacher assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
  •  Recognizes and supports the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Gives evidence of lived Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example
  • Assist in the planning, preparing, and delivering of lessons
  • Assist in exercising students in the development of their intellectual skills and abilities
  • Motivating students to continual personal improvement
  •  Encourage, assess, monitor, and record the process and development of the students
  • Maintain an effective and formative learning environment within the classroom according to school guidelines
  •  Organize and maintain classroom supplies and materials
  •  Manage students’ behaviors in the classroom and on school grounds, applying appropriate and effective motivational discipline
  • Assistant in maintaining constant supervision and discipline among students in their care inside and outside the classroom
  •  Effectively carry out extra assigned duties
  •   Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with students
