Tierney Garden

Dr. Brian A. Tierney Memorial Garden

Following an all school Mass on September 6, 2002, officiated by the late Monsignor Donald Kiernan, a beautiful new garden was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Brian A. Tierney. Dr. Tierney was the first headmaster of our new private Catholic school and died suddenly in July 2001. The beautifully landscaped, circular garden, nestled between the Middle School and Upper School Gymnasium, features a statue of Christ and is ringed by a low brick wall. The statue looks down upon a circular flower bed containing white flowers, symbolizing the Eucharistic white host. Benches throughout the garden provide a place for prayer and meditation, as well as the opportunity for use as an outdoor classroom.
