Chris Kane, Director of Athletics
Chris Kane was named Pinecrest Academy Director of Athletics in 2015.
Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Kane served as Head Varsity Coach for both Boys and Girls Soccer, as well as Social Studies Department Chair and history teacher in the high school. Prior to his arrival at Pinecrest in 2008, Mr. Kane significantly developed the women’s soccer program at Marshall University, where he served as Head Coach and Director of the Women’s Soccer program from 2003.
Before his tenure at Marshall, Mr. Kane served as Assistant Coach at Rutgers University, The University of Georgia, and at La Salle University. He utilized these skills in developing the soccer program at Pinecrest, leading the Varsity Boys Soccer team to the State Championship in 2010. Mr. Kane earned designation as a Certified Athletic Administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) in 2017. To earn this distinction, Mr. Kane demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of his educational background, experience and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination. Mr. Kane is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.
