Missy Collins Named Outstanding Employee of the Year

Each year, the Archdiocese of Atlanta invites Catholic schools to select someone from their faculty and staff as the Outstanding Employee of the Year.
Pinecrest Academy’s Outstanding Employee of the Year is Mrs. Missy Collins. As our School Nurse, Mrs. Collins has done a heroic, 24/7 job since last March, handling COVID-19 related tasks on top of her normal responsibilities.  According to Mrs. Beth Howard, Interim Head of School, “We couldn’t have navigated this year without her!”

Unable to hold the traditional Archbishop’s Banquet to honor school staff due to the pandemic, the Office of Catholic Schools is using its social media platforms to pay tribute to the honorees.

We are grateful for Mrs. Collins’ unwavering dedication to her role as school nurse, even in the face of extremely challenging circumstances. The professional and poised way she has handled COVID-19 demands is quite remarkable.

To further honor Mrs. Collins for her dedication to our students, families, faculty, and staff, and for her tenure, the school clinic will be named “Collins Clinic.”
