Michael Pflug, Associate Director of Bands
Originally inspired by his grandfather and father who were both trumpet players,
Michael W. Pflug has been a performer, composer, and music educator since 2002. Mr. Pflug holds a Bachelor of Music from Florida Atlantic University and has developed a high knowledge of the musical theory and techniques required to teach students the tools needed to succeed in the world of music.
While always striving to motivate and inspire students to understand the importance of musical study, he is also an active published marching and wind band composer. His music has been performed by schools around the country and most notably the United States Army’s premier wind ensemble, “Pershing’s Own”. He is also the owner of Greenlight Audio Productions, a creator of award winning music for film, games, and other media.
As a trumpeter of 25 years, he has played in just about every ensemble possible from rock, funk, latin, from jazz bands to orchestra and wind ensembles, and has travelled on cruise ships performing around the world for 6 years. He also marched with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for four years taking home three DCI World Championships. He currently performs with the Georgia Wind Symphony.
