Parents are asked to consider the following volunteer opportunities.  The enrollment contract specifies giving at least 40 volunteer hours of your time to the school, so please be generous with your time.

Ongoing School Support

  • Media Center - Assist with shelving books and tidying up in the lower and upper school media centers. Chair works with Media Specialist to organize the volunteer schedule.
  • Carpool - Print carpool tags for Meet and Greet and for new families. Help facilitate carpools based on parent requests.
  • Chapel- Assist with caring for our chapels on campus and scheduling flower donations.
  • Copying - Assist teachers with copying worksheets/test/quizzes. Copy days are Monday and Thursday 8-10:30 AM.
  • Historian - Assist with collection of memorabilia and document the school year with photos and descriptions of events. Review and tag photo archives.
  • Hospitality -Assist with providing set-up of food and beverages at select events throughout the year.
  • K4J (Kids for Jesus) - Assist with planning fun activities for the students that reinforce the virtue of the month (Fridays).
  • Newspaper -Assist high school students with preparation and copying of the HS newspaper, Excalibur.
  • Lunch -Assist children in the Lower School Dining Hall with lunch (one day a month to several times a week).
  • Pinecrest Heart - Assist with special events for our parents such as the Mothers Luncheon in the fall and Friday morning "Coffee and Conversation" meetings. Also coordinate Mother's Day and Father's Day cards for parents.
  • SWAT - Assist with short-term and short-notice needs such as sorting materials for packets or special events assistance.
  • Paladin Wear Shop -Used Uniform/Spirit Wear Sales/Lost and Found - Assist with selling used uniforms and spirit wear 2-3 days per week for an hour at a time. Spirit Wear sales at designated events. Keep Lost and Found bins orderly.
  • Weekly News Copying - Assist with copying, sorting, and distribution of the weekly news for several hours on Tuesday mornings.
  • Yearbook - Assist the HS yearbook staff with organizing and editing the yearbook. Help sell business and personal ads.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation

  • Faculty/Staff Christmas Party - Plans and assist with a party for the Pinecrest faculty and staff (December).
  • Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheons - Assist with providing catered lunch for all faculty and staff (August/June).
  • Faculty/Staff Birthdays - Assist with acknowledging our faculty and staff birthdays with a gift from PAPA (all year).

Special Events

  • New Parent Barbeque - Assist with planning a dinner for all of our new parents (August).
  • Meet and Greet - Assist with the organization of this event prior to the first day of school (August).
  • Family Picnic - Assist with planning, set-up, activities, and food service (September).
  • Picture Days - Assist the photography company by organizing students on picture days (September/October).
  • Junior Ring Ceremony- Assist the Event Coordinator with tasks related to the Junior Class Ring Ceremony (October).
  • Spirit Week - Assist with campus-wide decorations, "spirit grams" and other preparations Homecoming Week (October)
  • Homecoming Dance - Assist Student Senate with planning, set-up and clean-up for a high school dance (October)
  • Bonfire - Assist with planning and preparation for a high school student Bonfire during Homecoming Week (October)
  • LS Cheerfest - Assist with planning and implementation of a LS Homecoming Pep Rally (October)
  • HS Pep Rally - Assist with planning and implementation of a HS Homecoming Pep Rally (October)
  • Thanksgiving - Assist the Development Office with the traditional Thanksgiving Mass & Celebration (November).
  • Book Fair - Assist the Media Center with set-up and working the Book Fair (December).
  • Christmas Dance - Assist Student Senate with planning, set-up and clean-up for a high school dance (December)
  • Open House - Assist the Admissions Office with the annual all-school Open House for prospective students (January).
  • Catholic Schools Week - Assist with organizing activities for the students (January).
  • Valentines Dance - Assist Student Senate with planning, set-up and clean-up for a high school dance (February)
  • Founders Day - Assist the Development Office with the traditional Founders Day Mass & Celebration (March)
  • Living Stations - Assist ninth grade Catholic Formation faculty with planning and execution of this Lenten event (March)
  • Fish Fry - Assist with planning, set-up, food service, and clean-up (March)
  • Vocations Week - Assist the school with implementing activities during vocations week (April).
  • Senior Mothers Breakfast - Assist with planning this annual tradition for mothers of seniors (April)
  • Junior/Senior Prom - Assist Student Senate with planning, set-up and clean-up for a high school dance (April/May)
  • Field Day (Grades 1-8) - Assist with opening and closing ceremonies, t-shirt contest, activities, etc (May).
  • Field Day (PK & K) - Assist with PK & K Field Day activities, etc (May).
  • Tennis Tournament - Assist with planning tennis round robin, food service, and raffle (May)
  • Senior Mission Trip - Assist Senior Advisor with planning for a senior mission trip (May)
  • Graduation - Assist the Event Coordinator with tasks related to the Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement (May).
  • HS Apostolic Service - Assist Apostolic Coordinator with tasks related to school or grade-level service projects.
  • MS Apostolic Service - Assist Apostolic Coordinator with tasks related to grade-level service projects.

Fundraisers

  • Fun Run - Assist Boosterthon Fun Run Inc. with PAPA's fall fundraiser (Fall).
  • Gala Benefit Auction - Assist with planning and execution for PAPA's largest fundraiser. This includes dinner, dancing, silent auction, and live auction (February/March).
  • Golf Scramble (Athletics Fundraiser) - Assist with the annual golf outing at a nearby golf club (October).
  • Sally Foster On-line - Organize the on-line sale of Sally Foster wrapping paper and gifts (September/October).
  • SCRIP/Box Tops - Work the SCRIP table during scheduled hours (discounted gift cards that earn money for the school).
  • Bingo Night (HS Fundraiser) - Assist the high school students with planning, set-up, and food service for Bingo (January).
  • Coke Products Sale (HS Fundraiser) - Support high school students with organizing and selling Coke products (Spring)
  • Family Expo Booth (HS Fundraiser) - Support high school students with organizing and selling food (April)
  • HS Concert - Assist high school students with planning and preparation for a concert (Spring)

Fine Arts

  • Art Show - Assist with set-up and working the Fine Arts art show.
  • Sewing Group- Help with creating and sewing costumes for performances.
  • Creative Design Group- Be of assistance to the Fine Arts department with creative ideas for the year.
  • Lower School Performances- Assist with costumes, props, and set-up for musical performances.
  • Middle School Performances - Assist with costumes, props, and set-up for musical/drama performances.
  • High School Performances - Assist with costumes, props, and set-up for musical/drama performances.
