To help students develop a solid foundation based on character, faith, social responsibility, problem-solving, and critical thinking; to build confidence through athletics, public speaking, performing, and mentoring, and to learn to share through service to the community and each other.   The core principles of the school include:

  • Christ-Centered - Christ is the model and at the center of all our efforts.

  • Integral Formation - Emphasis on development of the whole child:  intellectual, apostolic, human, and spiritual.

  • A Culture of Charity and Unity - Charity is the crowning virtue of a life centered in Christ.  Unity and Teamwork is critical to the success of our school.

  • Academic Excellence - Pinecrest strives for the pursuit of academic excellence, a thorough intellectual formation, a rich curriculum and an acquisition of a broad general culture: the humanities, history, fine arts, languages, mathematics, science and technology, while also fostering a critical study of culture.

  • Personalized Formation - Gender-specific, person-to-person, knowing the student, self-formation.

  • Family Partnership - We recognize that parents are the primary and principle educators of their children. With this understanding, formators in the school collaborate with parents in educating the child.

  • Social Responsibility - In forming the youth of today, we can influence the society and culture of tomorrow. We are shaping the minds and hearts of those who will serve others in the home, at the workplace, in the Church. Thus, we strive to form leaders who will influence different spheres of society, according to Gospel standards. (Vatican Council II)

  • Love, Motivation, and Conviction - True formation begins with love. A good formator sees the potential within each student and because of his or her love for that person is willing to commit the extra time, effort, and patience needed to help form that student. An educator cannot demand from the student without motivating them first, and this motivation must be based on authentic love for the student, demonstrated by self-giving, kindness, and patience.

  • Education by Goals - Our pedagogy places great importance on programming the educational effort according to clear goals, and accompanied by effective means to achieve them.

  • Build the Church - In all that we do, we are to keep in mind the ultimate gain of the Catholic Church and most specifically, the support, promotion, and partnership with our archdiocese and our local parishes.

Our Staff and Faculty Believe...

  • The student's integral formation is through collaboration with the parents and community.

  • The key to education is personal attention.

  • True discipline comes from within the person, is conducive to appropriate individual and social maturity, and fosters good citizenship.

  • Above and beyond the school curriculum, students should be encouraged to develop and pursue their own talents, build the school community through their own initiative, and take an active role in their own formation.

  • A school should foster a sense of belonging and cultural identity in order for students to come to know and respect diversity in other cultures and beliefs.

  • Teachers teach principally by example. They must embody the virtues they endeavor to transmit.
