Seven Pinecrest Students Invited to UGA Honors Band Festival
Seven Pinecrest high school band students have been invited to participate in Janfest, the University of Georgia's Honors Band Festival, which takes place in January 2017.
The students selected for this honor include:
Charles Insalaca, clarinet (10th)
Matthew Irlbeck, trumpet (11th)
Julianna Jennings, flute (10th)
Samhita Mallavarapu, oboe (11th)
Alex Pausa, trumpet (11th)
Patrick Phelan, clarinet (10th)
Claire Tran, Trombone (9th)
These students will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest conductors in the world, attend concerts of UGA ensembles and guest artists, participate in master classes with UGA faculty, and even have the opportunity to audition early for band scholarships. Acceptance into this festival is very competitive, and it is quite an honor to be selected. (Due to a scheduling conflict, seniors were not able to participate.)
