Welcome and thank you for your interest in supporting Pinecrest Academy. The Support Pinecrest section of the website summarizes many of the ways to support the school. Please feel free to contact the Development Office directly at 770-888-4477 for further information.
Fundraisers
Pinecrest Academy engages in fundraising activities each year and relies on every family to participate. The two primary operational fundraisers are the Annual Fund Campaign and the annual Gala Benefit Auction. Both of these activities raise funds which go to support the school's operational budget. Parents receive information about these activities in advance. Capital fundraising focuses on garnering funds to support the capital needs of Pinecrest Academy through Major Appeals, Capital Campaigns, Endowment, Foundation, and Grant Support. As a school in foundation, Pinecrest is particularly focused on the build-out of our campus.
Cash Gifts
Unrestricted gifts of cash are the most popular and easiest ways to support the school's mission. Gifts may be made in a single contribution or pledged and paid in installments.
Matching Gifts
The impact of a contribution can be greatly increased by a matching employer gift. When considering a donation, consult your employer and if applicable forward the completed matching gift form to the Development office with your contribution.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts, such as bequests, trusts, life insurance, and assignment of a beneficial interest, endowments, life estates, or real property are another avenue of contribution.
Stocks and Securities
Gifts of stocks or securities benefit the donor and the school. This type of gift is tax deductible and the donor may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated stock or security. Your financial manager and the Development office can provide information and assistance. Click on Pinecrest Stock Transfer Instructions for information on how to make a gift of this type.
Memorials and Honorariums
Memorial and Honorarium gifts offer an opportunity to honor a relative, friend, or a business associate. Any special occasion: birth, anniversary, graduation, etc. is a time for remembering. During a bereavement period, friends often see this as an appropriate means to express sympathy. The following message in the obituary of the deceased provides an avenue to make a meaningful and thoughtful gift: "Memorial gifts may be made to: Pinecrest Academy, 955 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041."
Gifts in Kind
Gifts in Kind are a form of charitable giving in which, instead of giving money to buy needed goods and services, the goods and services themselves are given.
With ever-changing IRS regulations, we recommend that you review your method of giving with your accountant, attorney, or other financial advisor. This will ensure that your plan will maximize the benefit to you and assist in fulfilling your intention.
