Mother Teresa: Her Life, Spirituality and Message Print E-mail

A panel exhibition from the Missionaries of Charity will be at Pinecrest Academy January 17th-20th.

The exhibit depicts the life of Mother Teresa and includes a relic of the first class. This inspiring display in the Pinecrest Academy chapel is free and open to the public.

A Healing service will be offered Thursday, January 19th 6pm-8pm. It will begin with vespers and close with benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Confessions will be offered.

The panel exhibition is a historical presentation, chronicling Mother Teresa's life from childhood to beatification by the Catholic Church. The exhibit begins with a biographical tour through Mother Teresa's life and the history of the Missionaries of Charity (MC), the religious order she founded. It consists of more than 70 panels, supported substantially by photos and copies of documents from the official Missionaries of Charity archives. At a time when meaning and achievement in life was too often defined by what one has, Mother Teresa of Calcutta rose to the heights of global recognition and respect by giving everything away.

The exhibition also recounts her beatification and highlights her spirituality and the message she offered to the world through the presentation of citations from her writings. The  diminutive nun was a giant among international humanitarians. Her life's mission and that of the Missionaries of Charity, the religious order she founded, was to provide "wholehearted, free service to the poorest of the poor."
