Student Senate
The Student Senate assists the school in coordinating student and school activities throughout the year. The Student Senate suggests and implements initiatives that increase the students leadership presence, school visibility, and apostolic presence within and outside the school community. It also seeks to contribute to specific aspects of the school including yearbook, food drives, school spirit and field days, special events, etc. The work of the Student Senate nurtures the leadership skills of the students, promotes a positive and collaborative spirit among the school body, and prepares the students for their adult participation in civic duty.
The Student Senate consists of an executive council and individual class representatives from 9th -12th grade classes. The executive council is comprised of a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.
Youth Leadership Forsyth Program Again this year, Pinecrest students were nominated to participate in the Youth Leadership Forsyth Program. This community-wide leadership program for high school students is designed to develop leadership potential and to acquaint participants with community needs, problems and resources through interaction with community leaders and decision makers. Experiences include classroom learning, discussions with county leadership regarding issues facing teens, and strategy meetings to plan effective campaigns for things like teen driving and drug awareness campaigns.
