Fr Robert PresuttiWelcome to this weblog! This site is intended to be an ongoing communication, information, and education resource for the entire Pinecrest family on a wide range of topics and themes. Let me explain the nature and operation of this unique site. The purpose of this blog is to raise and answers question that should be asked about the education we provide at Pinecrest Academy. An inquisitive mind on a quest for understanding our mission and purpose will find a lot to reflect on! I invite you to send me any questions or comments on any subject or topic. I will either answer you directly via email or I will generically and anonymously post the question and my answer. I will not post all questions and comments for the sake of brevity and conciseness. I hope this blog site can become a repository of ongoing thoughts and reflection. As always, feel free to send me a message directly to rpresutti@pinecrestacademy.org" with your thoughts. Yours very cordially, Fr Robert Presutti, LC, PhD

On Building Disposition, Grades 6-12, 2012-2013 School YearFrom its very beginning, Pinecrest Academy was conceived of as a PreK-12 educational institution, with gender-specific education in a gender-separate environment from 4th grade through 12th grade, on a coeducational campus (i.e. a single campus with both boys and girls). Ongoing pedagogical, social, and psychological studies continue to confirm the benefits of gender separation and specification, and in essence validate what has been the very long tradition of Catholic Christian education throughout the centuries. At Pinecrest, both gender separation and gender specification are important means to facilitate our mission of “developing Christian leaders to transform society.”In this vein, Pinecrest Academy really captures the best of all worlds; the entire gamut of preschool, lower, middle and high school are covered in a single institution, which serves both boys and girls, but in a gender separate environment. This is truly unique among educational institutions in the region, and we strongly believe in this unique offering of Pinecrest Academy.
