Pinecrest Academy has partnered with GOAL Scholarship to make it possible for you to redirect a portion of your Georgia income tax payments to provide scholarship assistance to incoming Pinecrest students.

Under Georgia law, you are able to designate tax dollars that you are already paying anyway and direct them to GOAL (specifically for Pinecrest). You can fund scholarships for Pinecrest students with no additional money out of your pocket!  In addition, a donation to GOAL qualifies as a charitable deduction for federal tax purposes.  As always, consult with your tax accountant.

Here are the simple steps you need to take to claim this credit:

1. Print and complete Form IT-QEE-TP1, the form that taxpayers MUST complete and file with the Georgia Department of Revenue to pre-qualify their contributions. This step is necessary because the DOR needs to make sure that all of the $50 million of annual Education Expense Credits that are available under the law have not been used by other schools. The sooner you do this the better chances of funds still being available.Form IT-QEE-TP1.

2. Bring the completed and signed Form to Bldg. A. We will gladly make a copy and file it with the DOR on your behalf.
3. After receiving your approval from the DOR, you then have 30 days to make your donation to "Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc." and designate Pinecrest Academy in the memo section of the check. The check should be sent to GOAL along with a copy of the approved Form IT-QEE-TP1 you receive from the DOR.
4. GOAL will send you a confirmation of your contribution, which along with your approved Form IT-QEE-TP-1 you will need to file with your state tax return in order to claim the Education Expense Credit.
