Discussion Clubs and Book Studies
So many books, so little time! "By the Book" clubs meet regularly to discus a book on a faith or parenting topic. The groups are led by a facilitator and filled with lively conversations and practical, concrete applications that impact everyday life. Most studies are free except for the cost of the book.
Handbook of Catholic Apologetics (Reasoned Answers to Questions of Faith): A fascinating study of the major arguments in support of the main Christian beliefs, including key, distinctly Catholic doctrines, and a Protestant-friendly treatment of Catholic-Protestant issues. Monday mornings at 8:15 am, Sept. 19, Oct. 3, 17, 31, Nov. 14 and 28, 2011. Also offered Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm, Sept. 8 and 22, Oct. 6 and 20, Nov. 3 and 17, 2011.
Not Your Average Joe: The Real St. Joseph and the Tools for Building Real Manhood in the Home, the Church and the World. Tuesday evenings at 7 pm, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, 11 and 18, 2011.
Walking With Purpose: This Catholic bible study aims to bring women to a deeper, personal relationship with Christ through personal study and small group discussions that link our everyday challenges and struggles to the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Church. Walking With Purpose is for any woman who sits in Mass wondering, "what does this have to do with my life and my problems?" It is also for the woman who wishes to grow deeper in her faith while developing a closer relationshipwith other women who are on a similar path. Monthly Mini-Retreats for Women and Men
Led by priest, consecrated, or lay person, these opportunities for directed prayer include Mass and meditations on an aspect of the faith, and practical Christian living. Open to all, "mini-retreats" provide time for parents to grow in their own faith.
Mens' Monthly Retreats: Held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, third Monday of every month, 6:30-8:30 pm.
