Academic Preparation
Core Courses
Our comprehensive core curriculum prepares Pinecrest Academy students to enter diverse fields of study after graduation from the High School. Electives in the junior and senior years allow students to pursue personal interests as well as receive special preparation for later studies. A description of the key aspects of the educational program in the core courses is listed below. The principle of individualized instruction, applied throughout our academic program, is found especially present in gender-specific classes. While the academic curriculum is uniform, the methodology of instruction may be adapted by the individual classroom teacher to the different learning styles and intellectual strengths found in boys and girls at this stage of their development. Certain courses will be divided into three levels of instruction: Academic, Honors, and Advanced Placement.
