AP Scholars Announced Print E-mail

Pinecrest Academy, a Catholic school in Cumming that serves students in Pre-kindergarten through High School, announces that 8 students have been recognized for their exceptional achievement on the Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.

These exams represent the culmination of achievement by these motivated and academically prepared students who took on the challenge of rigorous college-level courses while still in high school. Approximately 18% of the 1.6 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to earn an AP Scholar Award. Ratings are based on a scale from 1-5 with 5 being the highest score. Three of the eight Pinecrest AP Scholars achieved the highest ranking, "Scholar of Distinction."

Patrick Di Rito (‘08), Maria Guzman (‘08), and Roberto Ocon (‘09) qualified as Scholars of Distinction earning a 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
